Two films playing in Chicago pay tribute to other movies
Film contributor Milos Stehlik tells us about two films that reference other films and filmmakers. Ettore Scola’s "How Strange to be Named Fellini" pays tribute to Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini, who was friends with Scola. "Kumiko The Treasure Hunter," a film by the Zellner brothers, makes reference to the Coen brothers and their hit "Fargo." The film is based on the urban legend of Takoko Konishi, who was rumored to have died trying to find the treasure in the Coen Brothers film Fargo.
