A group of Ugandan politicians and human rights activists have decided to fight in court their country’s new anti-homosexuality law. It is now the law to receive up to a life sentence in Uganda under the charge of “Aggravated Homosexuality.” A person can receive a seven-year prison sentence in Uganda for “aiding and abetting homosexuality”. Melissa Minor Peters is an anthropologist. Her recent Northwestern University dissertation was on Uganda’s LGBT community.
