Ultimate frisbee brings Jewish, Palestinian and Arab Israeli kids together
Ultimate Peace is an organization that aims to “build bridges” between Arab Israelis, Israeli Jews and Palestinians, through the sport of ultimate frisbee. For many of the teens, this is the first chance they've had to get to know someone from a different religious group or community. A group of teens from Israel and the West Bank who are part of Ultimate Peace are currently on a tour throughout the U.S. where they are speaking at schools and houses of workshops about how the sport has changed their relationships with one another. Rotem Shavitt, a teenager from Ra'anana, a Jewish suburb of Tel Aviv and Mais Azaizah, an Arab Israeli from Daburia and Nancy Glass, the coaching director for Ultimate Peace, join us to talk about how sports can bring communities in conflict together.
