U.S. Joins Mass Expulsion Of Russian Officials Over U.K. Poisoning Attack

In a sign of solidarity with the U.K., the U.S. joined a growing number of countries to expel Russian diplomats. Former spy Sergei Skripal was poisoned earlier this month with a nerve agent, known to have been developed by Russia. The Russian government denies the attack that happened on British soil. Observers wondered if the Trump administration would join the united front against Russia, especially after President Trump congratulated Vladimir Putin on his recent Presidential election win. But on Monday, the U.S. ordered the close of Russia’s consulate in Seattle and gave 60 Russian diplomats seven days to leave the country.
