Saudi Arabia lobbied hard to defeat the bill that would allow 9-11 families to sue them. They even threatened to remove 75 billion dollars in assets from the US.

But the Saudi’s lost badly, 97-1 in the Senate. 

Another recent vote in the Senate had a significant number of senators voting against a Saudi Arms sale. Is a rift between the US and Saudi Arabia helpful or harmful?
