Weekend Passport: A Blend Of Painting, Photography And Film

Each week global citizen Nari Safavi usually helps Worldview listeners plan their international weekend.

This week he points us to an exhibit on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Senior curator Omar Kholeif tells about the MCA show featuring Egyptian artist Basim Magdy, who blends photography and film with his training as a painter to create complex pieces of art. Kholeif tells us it’s part of the MCA’s campaign to broaden the scope of contemporary art, drawing from beyond the Western world.
