Weekend Passport: A Modern Reflection On Spanish Knight Don Quixote

Quixote: On the Conquest of Self delves into Miguel de Cervantes’ 1605 masterpiece Don Quixote and transports audiences between time periods. Written by Mexican playwrights Mónica Hoth and Claudio Valdés Kuri, the one-man play connects the errant knight Don Quixote’s journey to the present reality.

The play runs through Dec.17 at Writers Theatre. Henry Godinez, resident artistic associate at Goodman Theatre who stars as Don Quixote, and playwright and director Claudio Valdés Kuri, join Worldview for a discussion. Global citizen Nari Safavi will also clue us into more global events to check out this weekend.
