By Galilee Abdullah, Steve BynumLegendary Iranian musician Moshen Namjoo, known for making protest music, was called the “Iranian Bob Dylan” in a 2007 New York Times article . Namjoo was sentenced to five years in an Iranian prison. He has since lived in exile abroad. Namjoo and his band, featuring the Italian female a Capella quartet Faraualla, perform Namjoo’s new album “On the String of a Tear’s Bow” tonight March 9 at 8:00 p.m. at the University of Chicago’s Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts.
Namjoo joins us live for a performance on Worldview . He is also a favorite musician of our global citizen friend, Nari Safavi, also a native of Iran. We’re celebrating five years since Nari started joining us on Fridays to help you have an international good time on the weekends.
