It’s been a year since a deadly earthquake struck Nepal. Dr. Ravi Bashyal, an orthopedic surgeon and a Nepali American, was in the country after the earthquake to help treat some of the injured. He’s been back several times since. He joins us to talk about the rebuilding process. The death toll from Ecuador’s April 16th earthquake has passed 650, according to official estimates. We’ll speak with Robert Leon, a firefighter currently working on the recovery effort. Plus, filmmaker Leslee Udwin joins us to talk about her documentary “India’s Daughter,” a film which recounts the story of the 2012 gang rape and murder of 23 year-old Jyoti Singh.
