Katherine Nagasawa

Former Audience Engagement Producer

Katherine Nagasawa is an audience engagement producer at WBEZ, which means she helps WBEZ’s journalism reach new and existing audiences — in the media, languages, and locations that best serve them. She also works to expand opportunities for the public to contribute to stories and help inform coverage priorities. She previously served as multimedia and engagement producer for WBEZ’s Curious City.

Outside of WBEZ, Katherine’s an independent documentary filmmaker. Her latest project, “Uprooted,” is an interactive multimedia experience that traces the effects of World War II incarceration on three Japanese American families from the west coast to Chicago. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, Real Food Media, and the Chicago Latino Film Festival.
