Doug is an avid listener of NPR and has been in media and sponsorship sales for the last 19 years. His career in media started with the Tribune Media Group in 2001 where he sold print, digital, outdoor, event sponsorship and direct response advertising solutions. Doug was most recently with the Professional Convention Management Association, were he was the Director of Business Development. His sales responsibilities included media both in print (Trade Publication) and digital (website, newsletters, social media), partnerships and sponsorships to clients in the Midwest. He also helped develop the EMEA and APAC markets, giving exposure to destinations overseas to the highly qualified PCMA North American meeting planner audience. His hobbies include sports, music and history (especially Chicago history). In his spare time Doug umpires 16” softball for both advertising and legal leagues in downtown Chicago. He also has begun volunteering at “Ladder Up” which gives people in need resources for tax assistance and tools to achieve financial stability.
