Mary Carol Murphy
Former Major Gifts Officer
Prior to WBEZ, Mary Carol was a Director of Development in Chicago for the University of Notre Dame where she worked with individual and corporate donors supporting all areas of the University. Mary Carol began her career in media strategy and investment at Leo Burnett, on the Allstate, Kellogg’s and P&G accounts. She spent 20 years in media sales for Parents with Meredith and Cosmopolitan with Hearst, partnering with numerous Fortune 100 companies and their advertising agencies in the Midwest and Texas.
Mary Carol earned a B.A. in English and Business from the University of Notre Dame. A longtime resident of Riverside in the western suburbs of Chicago, Mary Carol currently lives with her husband in Chicago’s South Loop, a short “L” ride away from their three children who also live and work in Chicago.
