When I was applying for this job, I thought long and hard about what it means to write for a blog, for this blog.   You all don’t know this, but a lot was weighing on my decision as it meant not only leaving a great job but moving 600 miles away from the only home I had ever known.

From wishes to loves to quotes to advice to anonymous little notes taped to ATM’s to agreeing to write each other — penlessly even! — the words you use pen together a place unique. Words used here translate to something not only meaningful or lovely but something real. For a writer whose words often have no tangible presence, this is everything. It reminds me of Thoreau’s quote: “to affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts.”

MISSION: This all got me thinking about just who you all are, and I was reminded of the six-word story. And so, tell the world who you are! For this week’s mission, hop over to the comment section and write your six-word memoir.

Your Mission Specialist,

Corey

PS. My six words: Still flying, Mom, by my pants!
