Amazon Scouts Out Locations In Chicago For HQ2

Amazon officials are in town this week to scout out several downtown locations that Chicago pitched as contenders for HQ2, the second headquarters the tech giant has pledged to build somewhere outside its home turf of Seattle. Earlier this year, Amazon narrowed the list of finalists to 20 cities, including Chicago. It’s already checked out sites in New York and Washington, DC. Morning Shift talks to CEO of the Better Government Association and longtime business journalist David Greising about the incentives package our region has put together for Amazon, the pros and cons of the the company coming to the Third Coast and Chicago’s strengths and weaknesses when it comes to being able to attract Amazon in the first place.
