President Donald Trump abruptly fired FBI director James Comey on Tuesday. The timing of the decision raised eyebrows on both sides of the aisle since Comey was leading an investigation into possible collusion between Trump campaign officials and Russian operatives.

There are also questions about the reasoning the Trump administration gave for the dismissal.
