In his State of the Union speech this week President Obama said he’d veto a bill that calls for new sanctions on Iran. Talks between Iran and six world powers are set to begin in February. The aim is get Iran to curb its nuclear program in exchange for a gradual end to sanctions, which have crippled the country’s economy. Currently, an interim deal is in place which was reached last November. Joe Cirincione, president of Ploughshares Fund, a global security foundation and author of Nuclear Nightmares: Securing the World Before It Is Too Late, Bomb Scare: The History and Future of Nuclear Weapons, joins us to discuss what’s at stake.
