Wendi Dwyer has worked with refugees since she was 16 years old.

Today Dwyer is the executive director of Literacy at the Well, an initiative that was conceived within the organization Lost Boys Rebuilding South Sudan. The program provides reading instructors at wells, which serve as community meeting places for the many Sudanese, especially women, who walk miles every day to get drinkable water.

For our Global Activism segment, Dwyer will tell us why now, at age 52, she feels she’s received much more from refugees than she has given.
