Is It Time For Another Constitutional Convention?
For decades, many organizations in the U.S. have been working to limit the powers of the federal government. Some groups are calling for a Constitutional Convention, a movement that stems from the original convention of 1787, which was intended to revise the Articles of Confederation.
Many proponents of the convention say the U.S. is closer than ever to holding the event. We’ll discuss how close the U.S. is to holding a Convention of the States with Karla Jones, the director of international relations and federalism with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
We also hear from Josh Silver, founder and director of Represent.Us, which is a non-profit seeking to pass anti-corruption laws throughout all levels of government, using model legislation called the American Anti-Corruption Act.
