A joint legislative committee has been holding hearings to address sentencing laws in the state. Illinois’ incarceration rate reflects the rest of the country; the U.S. has more people in prison than any other country. On Tuesday, Marc Levin testifies in front of the committee. Levin has been instrumental in changing how conservatives approach incarceration, claiming that less crowded prisons is rooted in Republican ideals like limited government.
