British Prime Minister Theresa May states she has not “given up” on Brexit negotiations despite claims from her government that Britain will suffer dire economic circumstances if it leaves the EU. There has been ongoing tension in the Prime Minister’s cabinet, as May has fought for a consensus on the Brexit deal for months. May has insisted that despite what the government’s analysis of the situation is, the data has not shown that the country would be poorer in the future than they are today. Many questions are still left unanswered and the future of May’s conservative party remains uncertain. To discuss Britain’s future in the EU we are joined by Anthony Phillipson, the U.K.’s Trade Commissioner and Consul General to New York.
