Good morning!

Welcome to this edition of the Morning Drive Podcast! In today’s episode, we’ll take a look at

But first, some news:

Democrats had a rough go of it on Governor’s Day Wednesday at the State Fair when union members that typically support the party turned against it.

The Cubs announced on Wednesday Oneri Fleita, the Cub’s vice president of player personnel, has been let go. And the team’s new president of baseball operations, Theo Epstein, says more management changes are coming.

The President of the Illinois Senate, Democrat John Cullerton, says Governor Pat Quinn should let reporters into prisons. The comments come in response to a series of stories outlining the governor’s refusal to let WBEZ visit two minimum security prisons.

Featured in the podcast:

Jenn Lawrence of Schaumburg, Ill., was inside of a Chicago high-rise recently when, out the window on a nearby roof, she spotted a patch of green. Jenn had heard of buildings putting greenery on roofs before, but wanted to know more, so she asked Curious City: “Are the tops of skyscrapers still being planted with green space and what have the benefits been?”
