Algerians will vote in presidential elections on Thursday and it appears likely that the current president, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, will be elected for a fourth term. But many young people and opposition forces have urged Algerians to boycott the vote. Bouteflika has promised that the polls will be tightly monitored against fraud and he has urged Algerians to come out and vote.
