New census data released Thursday show that Chicago lost a greater percentage of its population than any city in the nation from 2015 to 2016. Since 2013, the city has lost nearly 14,000 residents, much of that decline coming in 2016. Morning Shift talks to Alden Loury, director of research and evaluation at the Metropolitan Planning Council. He’s crunched the most recent census data and cross referenced it with other data sets to build a picture of who is leaving Chicago and where they are going.
