DuPage and Will counties have a new state representative after Republican Ron Sandack suddenly resigned last week.Top Republicans in the 81st congressional district chose Downer’s Grove village councilman David Olsen after interviews on Saturday. Olsen will immediately fill the position of former state Rep. Ronald Sandack, who resigned last weekend and filed police reports that he was harassed on fake social media accounts. 

DuPage GOP Brian Krajewski said in a press release that Olsen quote “fights for taxpayers and brings people together for common sense solutions” unquote. Olsen will also be listed on the ballot in November’s general election. He’ll run against Democrat Greg Hose, an attorney from Downer’s Grove.
