By Tony SarabiaThis week on Radio M we introduce you to Swedish hip hop/reggae artist Jason Michael Bosak Diakité, whose stage name is Timbuktu. His music borrows from African rhythms, blues, folk and Jamaican sounds.
He found himself at the center of controversy leading up to the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo because one of his songs was deemed offensive by the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrat party. He was up for an anti-racist award that year.
We’ll also bring 1970’s Angolan dance music…Indian funk and psychedelic music from Singapore and a hold over from last week’s Mardi Gras show.
