Chicago, this is what we in the business call ‘great tape.’

The City Hall press corps (and other press) finally had a chance to pose their many questions about Lake Shore Drive, blizzard fall-out, and storm clean up costs directly to Mayor Daley on Thursday.

He hasn’t spoken publicly since the blizzard hit and during the last 48 hours, he has faced some criticism about the decisions made and  why his chief of staff and his department heads have debriefed the media in his place.

What follows is a piece of tape that I will keep close.

It’s history in the making - a lame duck mayor addressing a very information-hungry media mob after the third-worst snowstorm in Chicago history.

Oh yeah, and that mayor is Daley.
