Suicide rates have dramatically increased in 49 states, across all race, ethnicities, genders, and age groups, according to a report released Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC analyzed data from 1999 to 2016 and found high numbers of suicides among people with no diagnosed mental health condition at the time of their death. The issue is increasingly being referred to as a public health crisis.
