The Claudettes are 95 percent pure musical fun, 5 percent inside joke and stage act. The piano-drum combo of Johnny Iguana and Michael Caskey (respectively) bring a 21st century sense of style and showmanship to an early-to-mid-twentieth century sound. It’s a sort of evolved boogie-woogie – edges smoothed out, and informed by the styles it helped inform.
