President Donald Trump will give his first State of the Union Address tonight. According to White House officials, he will tout his tax cuts, the record-high stock market, a new infrastructure plan, and a “peace through strength” national security strategy.

Controversy also surrounds Trump’s remarks. He will feature guests who lost family members at the hands of immigrants, who came into the country illegally. Critics say the move will foment the racist and Islamophobic passions of many in his political base. The Trump administration also remains embroiled in the continuing Russia investigation by Special Prosecutor, Robert Mueller.

We’ll get a preview and analysis from Steve Clemons, Washington editor-at-large for The Atlantic and national security contributor for MSNBC.
