Foodies and Fashionistas at Dose Market

Head to the River East Arts Center and join 17 local food artisans – and 20 of their fashion and design counterparts - where Dose, a European-style monthly food and fashion market, launches Sunday, June 5, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Handpicked by the market’s founders, food, fashion and design vendors gather under one roof one Sunday a month yearround, selling local cheese, honey, artisanal syrups, coffee, smoothies, ice cream, preserves, chocolates, tea and more. Think of it as the Brooklyn Flea in River East. Local favorites include Truffle Truffle’s new I Heart Chicago collection - a collaboration between chocolatier Nicole Greene and Metropolis coffee, the Spice House and Half Acre (at a special Dose price of $20 instead of $28); X-Marx’s boiled dumplings, cold Sichuan noodles, Macao rice crisps and a special Sichuan-spiced version of their addictive Mama’s Nuts nut brittle; Salted Caramel’s new line of frozen sweets, including Thai mango-curry-yogurt pops and chocolate-molé pudding pops; and the premier of Jo Snow’s snow cones. Find the full list of vendors here. Price of admission is $10 at the door, or $8 online at dosemarket.com/get-tickets. River East Arts Center is located at 435 E. Illinois St. For more information, visit http://dosemarket.com/
