As the novel coronavirus continues to spread, there’s grave concern about hospitals being overwhelmed with patients and supply shortages. Some doctors and nurses across the world have had to turn to social media and the streets to express their concerns. 

We check in with a Chicago ER doctor on the frontlines of the pandemic. Dr. George Chiampas is an emergency room physician and assistant professor of emergency medicine at Northwestern University’s medical school.

Later in the show, Reset talks to Tricia Pendergrast, a Northwestern University medical student. She, with a number of colleagues, are part of an initiative called “Get Me PPE Chicago”, geared toward getting essential medical supplies to workers in the field.
