Chicago is getting a number of new hotels. But perhaps none have grabbed the spotlight like The Langham Hotel, which has its grand opening this September and occupies part of one of our city’s most famous skyscrapers. The IBM office building at 330 North Wabash was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in the late 1960s and constructed after the architect’s death. It was his last American building and is on the National Register of Historic Places. To find out more about its conversion to a hotel we’re joined by Lee Bey, who writes about architecture for WBEZ.
