The city of Monterrey has seen a rise in violence in recent years as rival gangs have fought over the drug trade. The EJEMPLAR project works to keep at-risk adolescents from participating in organized crime and dropping out of school in violence affected communities. Kids are taught media skills and work on community service projects and online initiatives.
