Canada’s left leaning New Democrat Party (NDP) swept into power last week in Alberta, ending nearly four decades of conservative rule. Alberta is one of Canada’s energy hubs. The New Democrat Party (NDP) had never held more than 16 seats, but will now control well over 50 seats . We’ll talk about the results of the elections with David Goa, director of the Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life at the University of Alberta. We’ll ask him what this could mean for Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s political future.
