For the first time in more than a year, the City Council Education Committee met and, when they did, they focused on the plan to give each city college a specialty. Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s plan to close classes and to consolidate programs at each of the seven City Colleges campuses was roundly criticized by Chicago aldermen.
