Nearly a half-century ago, a group of Chicago artists formed a collective to support each other and the larger community, show off their work and the work of emerging artists, and to give a voice to artists that didn’t have one. But there was something about Artists Residence Chicago that made it unique — it was owned and run by women.
Forty-five years after its founding, ARC Gallery is alive and well, and will be continuing its mission in a new, larger space.
We talk about the history and the future of the woman-run artist collective with its president, Cheri Reif Naselli.
