The Armenian Apostolic Church is canonizing the victims of the Armenian Genocide this morning. An estimated 1.5 million Armenian Christians died under the Turkish Ottoman government. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the start of that genocide. There are multiple events and prayer services in Chicago this week.
