At age 14, Hannah Salwen convinced her family to sell their big house and donate the money to an organization working to eradicate hunger and poverty in Africa. Hannah and her father wrote about it in their book The Power of Half. And, an epidemiologist shares his research that suggests countries with smaller income differences between rich and poor have better life expectancy rates and fair better on a range of social indicators.
