In the city of Aurora, Illinois with a population just over 200,000 people, resides the home of the only Latina owned film studio in the Midwest. Ave Fenix Pictures has produced films nominated for United States, United Kingdom, and Rome independent film festivals,  shot right in the very neighborhood of where the film company was founded.
