Tomorrow marks a year since the collapse of the Rana Plaza garment factory that killed more than 1,100 workers in Bangladesh. Fred de Sam Lazaro has been reporting on safety and working conditions there following the disaster for the PBS News Hour and the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting. He’s also director of the Under-Told Stories Project at St. Mary’s University in Minnesota, a program that combines international journalism and teaching.
