On this week’s Barber Shop Show, host Richard Steele was joined by: journalist Whet Moser. He talked about his recent Chicago Magazine article that sets up the connection between health, economics, and crime in communities. Then we heard from with Eboni Hawkins and Michael Johnson of Red, Bike, and Green (a black cycling organization). Eboni is also involved with Fultonia (a series of events dedicated to the legacy of Dr. Alvenia Fulton, a natural health care and nutrition pioneer in Englewood). Plus, from I Grow Chicago, we were joined by Robbin Carroll, Co-Founder and President of I Grow Chicago. I Grow Chicago spearheads an urban agriculture program, as well as outdoor yoga sessions in Englewood. We also talked to a yoga participant. Lastly we talked to Linsey Robinson, a 5th grade teacher whose class wrote an editorial to the Tribune in defense of their South Shore neighborhood.
