Most guys have to run, pass, kick, or tackle their way into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This year, organizers opened up a new category to honor fans.

The “Ford Hall of Fans” was created to celebrate that rare breed of die-hard superfans that have gone above and beyond for their team.

Don “Bearman” Wachter of suburban Plainfield got the call Friday that he’ll be in the first class of fans to enter the hall this August.

Wachter has been a season ticket holder for more than three decades and is known for his painted face, real bear head, furry arms, and undying love for the Chicago Bears.
