The Cook County Sheriff and the Illinois Department of Corrections are fighting over who is to blame for the accidental release of an inmate charged with murder. Last Friday, 29-year-old Garrett Glover was released from custody by the Illinois Department of Corrections after spending two years incarcerated for attempted armed robbery. But Glover still has an open murder charge. Illinois Correctional officials say that Cook County didn’t tell them that, so they had to release Glover. But a spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff’s office called that statement “absurd.” Glover remains at large.
