The Chicago Board of Education on Wednesday approved Chicago Public Schools’ plan for seven new charter schools. Opponents of that move are still fuming from school closures last year in neighborhoods where some of the proposed charters would be located. WBEZ’s Becky Vevea was at the meeting and she has the latest from both sides of the issue.
