RJ and Jerrod Melman have already proven they can run a restaurant (HUB 51) as well as their dad - Lettuce Entertain You Founder Richard Melman. Now the sons are poised to open their second restaurant in Chicago, right next door.

Since Brasserie Jo’s lease is set to expire, the sons will team up with chef Jean Joho and Tim Graham (currently Exec. Chef at Brasserie Jo, formerly of TRU) to open a “casual and funky” French restaurant that will hopefully appeal to a new generation of diners.

“Brasserie JO has such a long history in Chicago and having known Chef Joho for many years, Jerrod and I have huge appreciation and respect for French cuisine,” said RJ Melman in a press release. “We see this as a rare opportunity to team up with one of the true greats to create a place that also reflects our vision and personality.”

The as-yet unnamed restaurant is slated to open in late October, after the space is completely remodeled.
