Bronzeville is building its own sustainable power grid

Commonwealth Edison is building a microgrid in Bronzeville on Chicago’s South Side, thanks to a $4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. The network of solar panels, natural gas-powered generators and batteries will be enough to fully power the community.
