Relive the days of soapbox oratory and public debates that immortalized Washington Square Park. Celebrate Chicago’s long history as a hub of free speech with soap boxers and a compelling main debate.

The main debate focuses on gun control in the city and features Otis McDonald, plaintiff in the recent “McDonald v. City of Chicago” Supreme Court case.

Soapbox speakers include Tania Unzueta, on undocumented immigrants, Pam Selman and Evan Ribot, two former high school newspaper editors whose work was censored by their school’s administration, Steve Stevlic, a Tea Party organizer in Chicago, and many others.
