According to the Cook County Clerk’s office, both Chicago and suburban Cook County have have taken advantage of early voting and absentee ballots this year. More than 500,000 Illinoisans cast early votes and though early voting ended Sunday, unregistered voters can still participate in grace period registration through Tuesday.
