Chicago 7-Year-Old Raises $25K For PPE At Lurie Children’s Hospital

Hayley Orlinsky, 7, is selling colorful rubber band bracelets to raise money for personal protective gear at Lurie Children’s Hospital.

In the early days of the pandemic, front-line workers struggled to find personal protective gear like masks, gloves and face shields. The news inspired Chicago 7-year-old Hayley Orlinsky to help. With the support of her family and friends, Hayley has raised more than $25,000 for PPE at Lurie Children’s Hospital by selling handmade rubber band bracelets. Some of her famous clients include Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the White Sox.
