The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development cut $3.3 million in federal funding for Chicago’s homeless services. Currently, 12 of the city’s 15 programs have lost all of their federal funding. Julie Dworkin is the director of policy at the Chicago Coalition for the homeless and talks about how the organization is making a new push to help the city fund these programs.
